Devolution by Peter Clenott
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
This story grabbed from the first chapter where the reader becomes engrossed in Tree Storm’s reflection. I love stories that bridge gap of humans and animals so this is definitely one of my new favourite books. My heart ached for Chiku in this engaging story. Can you imagine trying to look for your missing father amidst a flurry of identity issues?
The characters are believable despite their settings, the stakes become higher for Chiku at the turn of every page and by the time you reach the first half of the book, you are racing to the end to get to the bottom of the mystery.
This book was definitely hard to put down and I loved every bit of it.
Would I recommend this read? Yes if you are looking for a different kind of YA story.
