Tell us a bit about your family. I live about a half hour north of Boston with my two sons who are seven and four. They’re crazy and smart and really rough and tumble. I was such a girly girl growing up. My background in Barbies hasn’t come in very handy. I have a very big, very fun close-knit family and I’m lost without my sister and my mom. They rock pretty hard.
What is your favorite quality about yourself? I crack myself up a lot. Maybe far too often but I really think even in the toughest times, you just have to laugh. It also helps if you have the same sense of humor as a twelve-year-old boy.
What is your least favorite quality about yourself? I crack myself up too much.
What is your favorite quote, by whom, and why? Honestly, some of my favorite quotes come from A.A. Milne. “Promise me you’ll always remember: You’re braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.” I have that hanging in my bedroom. Everyone needs a little pep talk every now and then. Why not get the pep talk from Christopher Robin?
What are you most proud of accomplishing so far in your life? I’m very proud of the life I’ve built for myself and my boys. Some days are harder than others but there isn’t a day that doesn’t come with some reward. Even if it’s only that you managed to get all of the random Angry Birds toys cleaned up in time to catch a little something on the TV after bedtime. Declare victory whenever you can.
What is your favorite food? Ask anyone. I take my cheeseburgers very seriously. I have a favorite cheeseburger list. Discussing that would require a dedicated cheeseburger interview.
