Concussion Is Brain Injury by Shireen Jeejeebhoy
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I'll admit that this won't be a book everyone will enjoy. First, it's not fiction and two, it touches on emotions many of us would rather bottle up and not talk about. I salute the author for putting her words on paper knowing that the entire process must have been difficult on so many different levels.
The book is descriptive about the emotions and changes a person feels when faced with a brain injury. Accuracy is spot on from what I have seen and experienced first hand. The only thing I did feel was there appeared to be some sort of detachment in some sections. Were these too painful to go into? Or would it have been too much for the reader? For this reader, this detachment came across as gaps I would have liked to read about.
Would I recommend this read? Oh yes, definitely.
