The Heavenly Road TrIp by Fiona Linday
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I find books like these slightly irritating. Given that adequate space is provided for description, none is given. Yes, I received a review copy but if I were to stumble across this book otherwise, there is very little motivation for me to actually purchase the book. If you are able to write a book, why can't you write just a bit more and include a description.
Right, rant over. Now, let's move on to the contents. For the most part this is a quick read. The book consists of short stories that mostly revolve around perspectives of life and death. I'm assuming this relates to the title, "The Heavenly Road Trip". Aren't we all beings on our way to / from a better a place?
Also, the short sentences didn't do it for me. I felt that most of the sentences could have been slightly longer with commas instead of sounding like a moody, abrupt teenager. While the meaning of the stories do get through, it wasn't entirely a comfortable read.
Would I recommend this read? Sure, to any patient reader.
