Broken Pieces by Rachel Thompson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I've had a lot of fun with Rachel's other two books. There were witty, to the point and touched everyday life. These were her present times when we know nothing of her past but enjoy the entertainment that this redhead author gives. Then she gives you Broken Pieces. It doesn't make you laugh, it's a roller coaster of emotions. She shares each of her broken pieces and how she has put these pieces back together, given the fact that there still may be a crack or two. The chapters are short and each one shares a different stage in her life. And I think that may be a problem for a lot of people.
As long as there is laughter, it's so easy to deal with things. Throw in a dash of heartfelt emotion and people can't wait to get off. Are emotions really that bad? Don't we all have them? Yes, some of us are too cowardly to express our issues but that doesn't make a book like Rachel's a bad book. It makes her a courageous person for facing her demons and for telling the truth. You cannot judge what you do not know and those who can't handle this book, probably aren't that great at handling life.
Would I recommend this read? Oh yes, definitely. Especially to young / married women who are at crossroads.
