A Wicked Awakening by Calinda B.
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Personally, I liked the bits where the POV switches and we see Cherie's life from her boyfriend's perspective. One would think that switching POVs will be distracting to the reader but Calinda does it so smoothly you start to feel connected to each of the characters.
Cherie serves as a well-developed central character and the themes that revolve her are quite real although the book comes under the paranormal category. We see her dealing with self-acceptance, progress and of course her sexuality. Hence, the title, A Wicked Awakening. Will she learn to accept that she is different or will she blend in with the majority?
Would I recommend this read? Oh yes, definitely.
