#OBBigBang Book Review - Rise of the Retics by T.J. Lantz

Rise of the Retics (Rosehaven the Hidden City, #1)Rise of the Retics by T.J. Lantz
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Tyranna means tyranny? Couldn't help feeling this way. The writing style for this book reaches out to you like Enid Blyton's Famous Five or The Secret Seven. It's light, fun and to the point. Tyranna becomes distraught that as more people try to protect her, more bloodshed occurs.

The hunt for the retics seems almost sad. Although these are strange creatures, the world has never heard of, killing them and getting rid of them seems to create a sense of loss for the reader as well.

TJ Lantz's has made a whole of effort to create a merger of these two worlds and the only drawback I felt was that there were slight gaps in the timeline. Other than that, it's an absolute fun read your teenager and you will enjoy.

Would I recommend this read? Oh yes, definitely.

Overall assessment:
Content: 4/5
Editing: 4/5
Formatting: 4/5
Pacing: 4/5
Offensive content?: PG, nothing at all heavy but of course not appropriate for those 7 and below.

Disclosure: I received a review copy of this book from the author through Orangeberry Book Tours. I did not receive any payment in exchange for this review nor was I obliged to write a positive one.
