With My Body by Jo Briggs
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
How much is too much? I kept asking myself over and over again as I read this book. Large sections of this book are very descriptive. Everything is described. Everything and everyone's history is explained. Was this necessary? I'm not really sure. What it does do is that it distracts you from the story and then it becomes long-winded and then you find yourself going, hang on ... Catch my drift?
Other than this, yes, the story flowed and the characters were well-developed. Jo's writing style is smooth and consistent throughout the novel. I would have liked a little less background on the characters and more on the story itself but to each his / her own.
Would I recommend this read? Sure, to any patient reader.
Overall assessment:
