#PUYB Book Review - The Rage by Temujin
The Rage by Temujin Hu
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
What I loved about this book is the way the minor characters are actually part of the main story. When you first meet them, you brush them off thinking why did the author even introduce them in the first place. But when their purpose is met and the story unfolds, these minor characters become much like the people we meet on a daily basis. Everyone has a purpose.
The one element I'm not so crazy about is the push and pull on the topic of spirituality / religion. Was the author himself facing a conflict that then resulted in his characters becoming confused? Don't get me wrong, Nicholas and Roland are well developed and offer page turning thrills, I only wish that the author had taken a stand and stuck with it.
I think the family element in this book was also a fantastic way of sharing the stories of these two young men. The author uses family to depict loss, love and of course, the reason for vengeance. All in, this was a well-writtten action-packed book, a wonderful first attempt,
Would I recommend this read? Sure.
