Attorney-Client Privilege by Pamela Samuels Young
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
At first glance, this book comes across as any other legal thriller. It is packed with legal details and case information. But after 20% it picks up and what a whirlwind it becomes. This is the first Vernetta Henderson book I'm reading so there were bits of background information I wanted to know more about but it must be noted that Pamela does not leave you clueless and I think this was the best part.
Her writing style is so fluid and effortless it's like a watching a movie. The elements of distrust and competition between opposing lawyers is realistic and captivating at the same time. I love the fact that each character was made real enough so the reader was able to relate to him / her and complex enough to be hold the reader to the last page when of course, everything falls into place in a very shocking end.
The marriage element wasn't unique but it was real and I take my hat off to Pamela for making sure each element in her book has you feeling like you are sitting right there as it happens. Can't wait to read the other books in the series.
Would I recommend this read? Oh yes, definitely.
