#Inspired Kathy Book Review - Once Upon A Baby by Shari Guess

Once Upon a Baby: A Tale of AdoptionOnce Upon a Baby: A Tale of Adoption by Shari Guess
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

My husband and I have been blessed with three children. Earlier this year, we found out we were expecting twins but six months into my pregnancy we lost one baby. It was devastating. Books like these open your eyes and make you remember not to take things for granted.

I love the fact that this book was written to accommodate a child's questions about why, what and who. The author offers a gentle perspective which a child can hold on to for a long time to come when she explains the entire process of adoption from start to finish. It can also serve as a small dose of comfort for a parent in the midst of adoption.

The only thing that holds me back from giving this book a full 5-stars is the fact that the book covers adoption from a single point of view / situation. There is no wider focus. But this is a personal preference and maybe I was expecting too much.

Would I recommend this read? Oh yes, definitely.

Overall assessment:
Content: 4/5
Editing: 4/5
Formatting: 4/5
Pacing: /5
Offensive content?: None at all. I would rate it G to PG

Disclosure: I received a review copy of this book from the author through Inspired Kathy Book Tours. I did not receive any payment in exchange for this review nor was I obliged to write a positive one.
